In all truth, Cassana did not enjoy being at court too much. Too many people she knew were pretending to flatter her, now that she was married to one of the most powerful men in the realm. However it was necessary, as the newly wedded wife of Steffon to be presented to his cousin, the newly crowned King Aerys II. Though her rounded stomach was quite the conversation starter she soon felt tired of the dull, always repetitive questions. The only lady she had not talked to that evening was Joanna Lannister and in the hopes of better conversation, the heavily pregnant Cassana approached the other lady much closer to her age than most others.
“Lady Joanna, you look radiant tonight, may I say so. Would you maybe save me with your presence from these very boring conversations I found myself in?”
joanna was not fond of court, either —- in fact, she was not much fond of being in king’s landingat all. perhaps it was the fact that she missed the comfort of being HOME at casterly rock ; perhaps it was because she felt as if she was constantly under the violet gaze of their new KING.
either way, it was a struggle to look as if she were not incredibly UNCOMFORTABLE.
she’s clung to her betrothed’s arm for most of the evening ; thankfully, tywin has not seemed to mind. now, however, he’s had to excuse himself ; leaving joanna ALONE for the time being.
needless to say, the presence of lady cassana is more than welcome.
she offers her a wide, BRIGHT smile, taking the other’s hands in her own.
“ my lady cassana, it is YOU who is radiant. look at you ! you’re absolutely glowing. “ she can’t help but laugh softly at her confession of BOREDOM. “ ah, so it’s not just ME who hates being here, then ! i was starting to wonder. it all just gets so repetitive, doesn’t it? perhaps we could take a walk through the gardens, get away for at least a bit, yes? “
